EventHound Privacy Policy

EventHound Technologies, LLC | Version 2.1 | Final Publication Copy
Effective and Last Updated: July 31, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how EventHound Technologies, LLC (“EventHound,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you use EventHound.

1. Scope and Eligibility

This Policy applies to EventHound’s website, Accounts, public content, Business tools, communications, and related services. EventHound is intended for individuals who are at least 18 years old and is currently offered in the United States.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect Account and Profile information, including name, username or display name, email address, password hash, profile photo, bio, and preferences; Google or Apple account identifiers for social sign-in; Business representative and claim-verification information; and Business contact details.

We collect user-generated and public content such as Promotions, Community Updates, comments, answers, images, flyers, Business Profiles, hours, menus, websites, social links, likes, Bookmarks, Interested selections, reports, and verification activity. Public content may be visible to Visitors, Members, Businesses, search engines, and people using public links.

We may collect precise location when you grant permission, approximate location inferred from IP address, IP address, browser and device information, searches, pages viewed, interactions, referral information, timestamps, diagnostics, security logs, and cookies or similar technologies.

We may receive transaction identifiers, subscription status, invoices, billing name, payment method type, and limited card details from payment processors. EventHound does not store complete card numbers. We also collect communications, support requests, reports, survey responses, and communication preferences.

3. Sources of Information

We collect information directly from you, automatically through EventHound, and from service providers and third parties such as Google, Apple, payment processors, maps and place providers, and public Business-information sources.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to create and secure Accounts; provide search, location, posting, interactions, Reminders, Bookmarks, analytics, billing, verification, and support; personalize discovery; moderate content; prevent fraud and abuse; improve EventHound; communicate with you; promote public content; comply with law; and protect rights and safety.

We may use automated systems, including profanity filtering, recommendation systems, fraud detection, and AI-assisted processing. Human review may also be used where appropriate.

5. Public Content, Featuring, and Social Promotion

Public content may be displayed, indexed, shared, embedded, and discovered without an Account. EventHound may feature or promote public Member and Business content within EventHound and on EventHound-owned social media or marketing channels, consistent with the Terms of Service.

Once information is public, third parties may copy, cache, archive, or redistribute it. EventHound cannot control copies retained by others.

6. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose information to hosting, storage, database, authentication, email, analytics, security, moderation, payment, maps, and customer-support providers; to Businesses when needed to process claims or reports; to transaction counterparties in a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale; and to authorities or others when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.

EventHound requires service providers to process personal information only as necessary to provide services to EventHound and consistent with applicable law and contractual obligations.

DMCA notices, counter-notices, and certain reports may be shared with the affected party as required or appropriate to process the matter.

We do not sell personal information for money and do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by California law. If our practices change, we will update this Policy and provide required choices.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

EventHound uses cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session continuity, preferences, security, location features, and internal analytics. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent sign-in or core functionality.

You can manage cookies through browser settings and location through browser or device settings. EventHound recognizes applicable Global Privacy Control signals as requests to opt out of sale or sharing; EventHound currently does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

8. Location Information

Precise location is optional and is used to improve nearby search and relevance. You may disable location at any time. EventHound may still infer approximate location from IP address, and some features may be less personalized without precise location.

9. Communications

You may opt out of promotional emails using the unsubscribe link or available preferences. EventHound may still send necessary transactional, security, billing, legal, and service communications.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing EventHound, maintaining records, preventing fraud, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, complying with law, and protecting safety and security.

Account information is generally retained while an Account is active. After deletion or closure, some information may be retained for a commercially reasonable period for legal, security, fraud-prevention, backup, dispute, accounting, or operational purposes.

Public content may remain until removed, ended, deleted, or restricted. Member-created Promotions may remain after Account deletion with generic attribution. Backups, security logs, search-engine caches, and third-party copies may persist.

Business records, subscription history, transaction metadata, verification history, historical Promotion analytics, and aggregated or de-identified information may be retained where permitted by law.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, know, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of certain personal information, and to appeal certain denials. You may also have rights relating to sensitive information and targeted advertising.

Submit requests to contact@eventhound.com. EventHound may verify your identity, request information reasonably necessary to process the request, and deny or limit requests as permitted by law. Authorized agents may submit requests where allowed.

EventHound will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights. Some features may become unavailable if necessary information is deleted or processing is limited.

12. California Notice at Collection

California residents may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, sources, purposes, categories of recipients, correction, deletion, and portability, subject to legal exceptions.

Categories collected may include identifiers; profile information; commercial information; internet or device activity; geolocation; user-generated content; Business information; communications; and limited inferences used for relevance and personalization.

EventHound does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Precise geolocation is used to provide requested location features and security, not to infer sensitive characteristics or for behavioral advertising.

13. Account Deletion

Members and Businesses may delete their Accounts through available Account settings. Deletion is permanent from the user’s perspective, subject to lawful retention.

When a Member deletes an Account, comments, likes, and other Member interactions are removed. Member-created Promotions may remain and will no longer display the Member’s identifying profile information.

When a Business deletes an Account, associated Business content may be removed or retained as permitted by the Terms of Service, law, and legitimate operational needs.

14. Children’s Privacy

EventHound is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from individuals under 18. If we learn that an underage individual has provided personal information, we may delete the information, disable the Account, restrict access, and take other appropriate action. Contact contact@eventhound.com if you believe a minor has provided personal information or is at risk.

15. Security

EventHound uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, encryption where appropriate, authentication, monitoring, logging, fraud prevention, and vendor safeguards. No transmission or storage system is completely secure.

If EventHound becomes aware of a security incident involving personal information, we will investigate, take appropriate corrective action, and provide any legally required notifications.

You are responsible for protecting your credentials and devices and notifying EventHound of suspected unauthorized access.

16. International Processing

EventHound is based in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States or other countries where service providers operate. Where required, EventHound will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

17. Changes to This Policy

EventHound may update this Policy to reflect product, legal, security, or operational changes. Material changes will be communicated as required by law, and the Last Updated date will be revised.
