Business Posting — Getting Started & FAQ

Getting started & eligibility

  • Who can create a business profile? Restaurants, bars, venues, activity providers, and organizations hosting public happenings or promotions in the U.S.
  • How do I claim my page? Find your page → Claim this business → verify via email/phone/official link.
  • What if there are duplicate pages? Report via Suggest a merge on either page. We’ll consolidate followers, posts, and URLs.

Posting & promotions

  • What can I post? Food/drink specials, limited-time deals, activities, classes, shows, and events. Use categories: Food, Drink, Activity, Event (plus subcategories).
  • What’s not allowed? Misleading prices, unlawful items/services, hate/harassment, adult content, weapons, illicit drugs, multi-level marketing, or unsafe claims. See Business Posting & Advertising Policy.
  • Do I need exact dates/times? Yes for events and time-bound deals. If ongoing, mark as recurring and set clear availability windows.
  • Can I schedule posts? Yes—set start/end dates and recurrence (daily/weekly/monthly). Expired posts auto-archive.

Accuracy, pricing & disclosures

  • Final price. Show the real, attainable price and any minimums/conditions (e.g., “with entrée purchase”).
  • Sponsored content. We label “Sponsored.” If you received compensation from a partner, disclose it in the post body as well.
  • Alcohol promotions. Include age restrictions and comply with local/state rules (no targeting under 21).

Creative & content quality

  • Image rules. Clear, relevant images; no excessive text overlays, shock content, or deceptive mockups.
  • Copy tips. Lead with the offer, date/time, and location; avoid ALL CAPS and clickbait.
  • Linking out. Use your site, booking, or menu links. UTM parameters are supported.

Distribution, targeting & ranking

  • Who sees my posts? People near your location and those who follow or search your business/categories.
  • Ranking factors. Freshness, proximity, relevance, quality signals (saves, clicks), and guideline compliance.
  • Targeting. Set a service radius and choose timing (e.g., “Tonight,” “Weekend,” “Happy Hour”).

Analytics & ROI

  • Metrics. Impressions, clicks, CTR, saves, follows, “Add to Calendar,” and click-through to booking/menu.
  • Attribution tips. Use UTMs; we show referrers where possible. Compare in your analytics tool.

Edits, updates & expirations

  • Edit live posts. Yes—edits update immediately and are logged.
  • Sold out or canceled. Toggle Sold out or Canceled; followers get an update.
  • Auto-expiration. Posts expire on the end date. You can extend or re-run.

Locations, chains & teams

  • Multiple locations. Create/claim each location page or manage under an organization account with location IDs.
  • Service areas. Set a radius or add coverage zones if you deliver or operate across a wider area.
  • Team access. Invite staff with roles (Owner, Manager, Editor, Analyst). Access can be revoked anytime.
  • Transfer ownership. Current Owner can transfer to another verified admin.

Reviews, comments & community

  • Comments & shout-outs. Enabled; you can reply from your business account.
  • Violations. Report them; we may hide/remove and notify the user.
  • Asking for reviews. You can encourage feedback, but no incentives in exchange for positive reviews.

Moderation, reports & appeals

  • Why was my post limited/removed? Likely accuracy or policy issues (e.g., missing dates, prohibited promo).
  • Appeals. Use the link in the notice or the Content Reporting & Appeals page; provide supporting docs or corrections.
  • Repeat issues. We may restrict posting or ads temporarily; serious or repeated violations may lead to suspension.
